About Piano by Nature
Presenting high caliber, intimate, piano-based concerts at the Historic Hand House in Elizabethtown, NY, Piano by Nature brings professional and thought-provoking performances featuring unfamiliar repertoire and contemporary composers to the North Country, and provides creative educational programs to local area schools.
Our concerts are held in the historic Hand House parlor in Elizabethtown, New York. They have grown to include year-round solo and chamber music concerts, with performances highlighting lesser-known twentieth century works and unusual instrumental combinations. We are proud of the fact that before and after performances our artists fully engage with audience members. While on the Hand House stage, the performers share wonderful commentary on their chosen concert repertoire, and afterwards, audience members and artists can be heard in lively discussion on almost any topic! And the concert isn’t over until both have enjoyed a feast of locally-prepared goodies.
We thank the many visiting artists who have generously given outstanding musical presentations at area schools including Stafford Elementary in Plattsburgh, Westport Central School, Willsboro Central School, Crown Point Central School, and Keene Valley Central School. We also thank the area educators who have worked above-and-beyond to make these presentations a reality. Piano by Nature looks forward to creating future outreach programs, and asks that you please contact Dr. Rose Chancler at 518-962-8899 if you’d like your school to be involved.
Piano by Nature also continues to link with area groups and nonprofit organizations to further promote knowledge, understanding, and especially, the enjoyment of great music in the North Country.
