Piano by Nature is seeking support from members of our local business community to assist us in our continuing effort to bring exciting and enriching musical performances to our neighbors. As ticket donations defray only half of the operating expenses we incur each year, we have an ongoing need for additional funding to cover the rest. Local businesses have from time to time contributed to our programs, but we are now launching a more concerted effort to solicit local business support to help us close our funding gap. We are pleased to acknowledge their contributions as follows:

CONCERT SPONSORS

Each season Piano by Nature embraces a theme and offers a series of concerts throughout the winter months in keeping with that theme. Typically, we offer six concerts each season, and we seek assistance from the business community in underwriting one or more of these performances. (Cost per concert averages $750, not including reimbursement of travel expenses for musicians who do not live locally, which adds an expenditure of approximately $1000 annually.)

Generous contributions to help underwrite the cost of the Ben Cosgrove concert at the Essex Quarry have been made by Kevin O’Keefe, DMD, Tavistock Lodge, The Essex Community Fund at Adirondack Foundation and the Frisky Irwin Fund, for which we are sincerely grateful.

Additional sponsorships are available!
Piano by Nature is seeking help with funding the following significant aspects of its mission objectives:

POSTERS AND PROGRAMS

Funds needed to reproduce the posters displayed at local establishments before each concert as well as the cost of printing the programs distributed at each event.  (Annual cost of this effort is $200.)

These beautiful posters are designed by our friend and very talented graphic artist, David Lartaud, who has since PBN’s beginning undertaken this task and donated his efforts, for which we are deeply and continually grateful.

MAINTAINING OUR PIANO

Central to our promise to deliver quality keyboard-themed musical performances to North Country residents is the availability of a beautiful piano. Thanks to the generosity of our friends and neighbors, we have completed the purchase and restoration of Russell Ames’ Steinway B piano, and this magnificent instrument is now in place at the Hand House, where it will provide our community with a treasured resource for years to come.

To keep our piano in peak condition, it must be tuned before each concert. We have engaged the services of our friend, Chris Rawson, of Rawson Family Pianos in Plattsburgh, to perform this essential task for us, for which we are seeking financial assistance. (Annual cost for this service is $900.)

EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH

Exposing children to the wonders of music is a critical objective that Piano by Nature has fostered from its inception. The pursuit of this mission requires dedicated financial resources to be set aside for a variety of outreach experiences for our regional school music students, both on- and off-campus.

Piano by Nature coordinates visits with the educators in their schools (and/or at the Hand House) and assists with compensation for our teaching artists. We are currently seeking funding from our local businesses to facilitate these programs. (Projected annual cost for underwriting these initiatives is $500.)

MAINTAINING AND UPDATING OUR WEBSITE

Funds required to support the routine maintenance and periodic updates made to our website. (Annual cost is $1500.)

ONLINE CONCERTS

We hope to significantly expand the quality of our online capabilities for capturing, recording, and presenting all live events at the Hand House as well as remote concert locations. To this end, we seek funds to support this effort. (Projected annual cost for this effort is $200+.)

LICENSING FEES

Funds required to remit our annual ASCAP music performance licensing fee. (Annual cost is $275.)
